Who is psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy suitable for?

This approach to therapy is considered longer term, and clients are recommended to attend weekly for about six months. It is also important to find a stable time and day you are able to attend each week. While the therapy may respond flexibly according to clients’ needs, the emphasis is on self-development and introspection, rather than on advice-giving or teaching skills. While the therapist can and has worked with children, couples and families, this service is typically for individual adults, and is offered in English.
